The 2015 preseason National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer rankings were released Monday. Last year Virginia Tech’s women’s squad ended the season with an impressive 16-6 record, and finished ranked 16 after being defeated by eighth ranked Penn State in the NCAA Tournament. Two ACC teams lead the preseason rankings. The Florida State Seminoles are number one with the Virginia Cavaliers a close second. The North Carolina Tar Heels at seventh and Notre Dame Fighting Irish at ninth round out the four ACC teams ranked ahead of the Fighting Gobblers. The Clemson Tigers complete the ACC showing, earning 22, for a total of six teams from the conference starting the season in the top 25.
