Softball: The Hokies have faced two top 20 opponents in the last week and a half. After their trouble with the Louisville Cardinals the Hokies confronted the No. 20 Notre Dame Fighting Irish in Blacksburg. VPI kept it close, but in the end the Irish swept the Hokies during the three game series. VT mounted a three game winning streak, after the ND losses, by beating Western Carolina and Radford before traveling to Tallahassee to face the No. 20 Florida State Seminoles. The Hokies were competitive during the first two games of the series, losing 0-2 and 1-3.
