GREENSBORO, N.C. - Virginia Tech sophomore guard Chanette Hicks has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week, sharing the honor with UNC’s sophomore guard Stephanie Watts, as announced Monday afternoon by the conference office and voted upon by the Blue Ribbon Panel.
Hicks led the Hokies to a 2-0 week, including a 67-63 win over No. 17/16 Tennessee. Hicks registered a career-high tying 24 points against the Lady Vols while grabbing five rebounds and a career-best eight steals. With the Hokies trailing by five early in the third quarter, Hicks went to work in the second half, scoring 17 points.
