At the half, the Virginia Tech Hokies lead the Richmond Spiders, 14-7
The Hokies received the opening kick-off and Braxton Baumeister opened VT’s drive with a 27-yard strike to Tre Turner. Less than two minutes later he again found Turner, who performed quite the airborne acrobatics to get a foot down in-bounds, for the TD! The Spiders took the field and initially found some seams in the Virginia Tech defense before being forced to punt with nine minutes left in the first quarter. After the opening drive the Hokies started to flatten their offensive curve.
