Green runs away with ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor

Virginia Tech middle distance runner Hanna Green, who wrapped up her collegiate career at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in early June, was named the 2017 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year and heads up the sport’s All-ACC Academic Team, as announced Wednesday by ACC Commissioner John Swofford.

The announcement marked the second time this season in which Green earned a top ACC academic honor. In April, she received the ACC Women’s Indoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.

The ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards were established in September of 2007 to be awarded annually to the top junior or senior student-athlete in his/her respective sports.
