SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Michael Gbinije scored 17 points leading Syracuse to a 68-60 overtime win against Virginia Tech Tuesday night.
The Hokies led 55-48 with 2:27 left in regulation, but Gbinije hit an NBA 3-pointer with 27 seconds remaining to tie, then started the overtime with a jumper to give the Orange their first lead of the game, 58-56.
Trevor Cooney's 3-pointer started an 8-2 run with a Tyler Lydon slam and Malachi Richardson 3-pointer. Foul shots by Tyler Roberson, who had a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds, and Dajuan Coleman gave the Orange their margin of victory.
