Two weeks into the Philip Montgomery era at Virginia Tech on an interim basis, the Hokies look like a totally different team than they did in the first three weeks under Brent Pry. When he was fired early in his fourth season in Blacksburg, the school tabbed Montgomery as his replacement for the rest of the season.
In the first two games under Montgomery, Virginia Tech has rolled over FCS foe Wofford and opened ACC play on Saturday night in Raleigh with a 23-21 upset of North Carolina State. The Hokies return to Lane Stadium on Saturday afternoon to continue ACC play when they host Wake Forest and first-year coach Jake Dickert.
