BLACKSBURG – The Hokies conducted their eighth practice of spring Thursday evening, as the squad continued situational work. Both the Tuesday and Thursday practice sessions this week concluded with 11-on-11 end-of-game scenarios. Head coach Justin Fuente and his staff expect to put the squad through a closed scrimmage at Lane Stadium on Saturday morning.
A pair of notable fathers were at practice on Thursday evening. Three-time Pro Bowl defensive end Robert Porcher was on the sidelines observing practice. The former Detroit Lions star also was inducted into the Black College Hall of Fame earlier this year.
