Former Tech standout Kristi Castlin makes U.S. Olympic Team

Castlin finished second in the finals of the 100-meter hurdles and is headed to Rio

BLACKSBURG – Former Virginia Tech standout Kristi Castlin finished second in the finals of the 100-meter hurdles Friday night at the U.S Olympic Team Trials being held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, and will be headed to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the Olympics later this summer.

Castlin, who will be participating in her first Olympics, qualified for the finals after winning her semifinal heat earlier in the evening. In that heat, she ran the event in a time of 12.
