Class of 2021 cornerback Shawn Asbury decommitted from Virginia Tech on Friday evening and quickly flipped his pledge to ACC rival Boston College.
Asbury committed to the Hokies back in the summer almost immediately after receiving his official offer.
A 5-foot-10, 170-pound cornerback from North Stafford High in Stafford, Va., Asbury is a three-star recruit, according to 247Sports. He is the nation’s No. 132 cornerback and No. 40 overall player in Virginia for this cycle.
Look, on the surface, this is a tough blow for the Hokies. Perception matters. When you lose a Virginia kid to Boston College it is not a good thing.
