Long balls gave Tech a 4-1 lead, but Cardinals came back to get the win
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Matt Dauby hit a solo home run and Phil Sciretta added a three-run shot in a four-run third inning for the Virginia Tech baseball team, however the No. 4 Louisville Cardinals responded with seven unanswered runs and took the first of a three-game ACC series at Jim Patterson Stadium Saturday afternoon, 8-4.
Trailing 1-0, Dauby’s leadoff shot tied the game and Sciretta made it 4-1 with his home run. With Saige Jenco and Ryan Tufts aboard, Sciretta launched a ball into centerfield, which hit off the top of the wall and bounced back into the field.
