The Virginia Tech football season has been over for 16 days. Truth be told, the season was over before their 27-7 season-ending loss to Virginia in Charlottesville, but a frustrating season finished at 3-9.
It was a tumultuous season that started 0-3, and Brent Pry was fired after a Week 3 loss at home to Old Dominion, 45-26. You have to give credit where credit is due with Philip Montgomery, who was hired as the Hokies' offensive coordinator last winter, but assumed the head coaching duties for the final nine games after Pry was fired.
Montgomery and the rest of the staff may have finished the season 3-6, but Virginia Tech looked like a prepared team that never quit on the season.
