GREENSBORO, N.C. - Virginia Tech's Chanette Hicks received ACC Rookie of the Week honors this week. The ACC women's basketball weekly honors are determined by a vote of the league's Blue Ribbon Panel.
Hicks keyed Virginia Tech to a road win at Wake Forest, followed by a home victory over rival Virginia. The latter win marked the first time in program history that the Hokies have completed a regular-season sweep of the Cavaliers. Hicks had 15 points and six rebounds in the win at Wake Forest, followed by a career-high 19 points and eight rebounds in the victory over Virginia.
