After losing the season opener to South Carolina, the hot seat got warm for Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry. He was facing a must-win game on Saturday night in Blacksburg in the home opener against Vanderbilt.
Things looked promising at halftime as the Hokies went in with a 20-10 lead, but there were still 30 minutes for Pry and Virginia Tech. It ended up being an unforgettable 30 minutes and maybe the worst 30 minutes of his tenure as head coach of the Hokies. The Commodores embarrassed the hosts to the tune of outscoring them 34-0 in what turned into a 44-20 victory.
