GREENSBORO, N.C. – Rachel Baxter of Virginia Tech’s track and field team has been named ACC Women’s Field Performer of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
The freshman posted the third-best mark in school history at the Tennessee Relays last weekend, clearing a height 4.30 meters (14 feet, 1.25 inches) in the pole vault to place first. The honor marks her first weekly honor from the conference office. She joins fellow freshman Lisa Gunnarsson as the other Hokie to be selected for the weekly award this outdoor season.
