Hokies, Vols will be in national spotlight at Bristol Motor Speedway
BLACKSBURG – ABC announced on Thursday that it will broadcast Virginia Tech’s game at Bristol Motor Speedway against the University of Tennessee on Saturday, Sept. 10, with kickoff for the Pilot Flying J Battle at Bristol slated for 8 p.m. EST.
The first football game ever set to be staged at Bristol Motor Speedway – one of racing’s most iconic venues – is anticipated to shatter college football’s current single-game attendance record of 115,109 (Notre Dame at Michigan in 2013). The neutral-site contest in Bristol, Tennessee, will mark the first meeting between the Hokies and Volunteers since Tech registered a 37-14 against Tennessee in the 2009 Chick-Fil-A Bowl.
