College football fans could finally breathe a sigh of relief last week. The ACC and SEC were proactive in its scheduling efforts, to ensure there would be a college football season this fall.
The ACC announced a 10+1 format, which meant all ACC teams, including Notre Dame for this season only as a full-fledged member, would play 10 conference games and one nonconference game against an opponent located in the same state. Virginia Tech chose Liberty.
The SEC followed up with 10-game slate that would feature only conference games.
Over the weekend, it was rumored the Big Ten and Pac-12 would choose against football this fall, while the Big 12 was more closely aligned with the ACC and SEC.
