2018 4-Star WR Darryle Simmons commits to Virginia Tech

The Virginia Tech Hokies football program got better over the weekend, as they nabbed another cornerstone to their 2018 recruiting class.

On Sunday afternoon, 4-star wide receiver Darryle Simmons, a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania product, committed to the Hokies over Penn State, North Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Maryland.

The 6’2″ 180 lbs. Simmons held 15 offers in total before ultimately selecting the Hokies, and becomes the second wide receiver to commit to Virginia Tech as part of the 2018 recruiting class, joining 3-star South Carolina prospect Bryce Thompson, who committed last July.

Given the fact that Thompson stands slightly shorter than 6’0″, the Simmons signing provides the 2018 wide receiver group some versatility with his size and speed on the outside as a bigger pass-catching target down the line.
