The Virginia Tech Hokies’ running game struggled through an up-and-down 2016 campaign, and was the weakest part of what turned out to be a very formidable offense last season. While Travon McMillian returns as the team’s leading rusher heading into the fall, the Hokies will be seeking consistency alongside of him to round out their backfield.
One candidate who can make some noise for early playing time when he arrives on campus this summer is former 3-star recruit and true freshman running back, Jalen Holston. Holston, who signed with the Hokies in February as a member of the 2017 class, is a 5’11 200 lbs.
