Tonight, No. 7 Virginia (5-0) takes on the Providence Friars in the finale of the Emerald Coast Classic. The Hoos dismantled Iowa 74-41 behind 14 points and nine rebounds from Jarred Reuter off the bench. In the late game, Providence defeated Memphis 60-51 to advance.
Providence will be the stiffest test thus far, especially defensively. Although the Friars come into tonight’s game ranked 58th on KenPom (Iowa was 59th), they are 25th in defensive efficiency. They only give up 55.6 points per game, and are 4-1 on the season with their only loss coming against Ohio State (72-67).
