Virginia pulls away from North Carolina State in second half of rout

CHARLOTTESVILLE — Former Virginia standout Justin Anderson jumped out of his courtside seat for the third time in a row and pumped his fist in the direction of London Perrantes, who had just sunk his third three-pointer in as many possessions to give the Cavaliers a 24-point lead over North Carolina State, their biggest of the game.

Virginia had let Duke beat them at the buzzer on the road two days earlier, but the Cavaliers pulled away from the Wolfpack after halftime and had no problem wrapping up ACC leading scorer Cat Barber on Monday at John Paul Jones Arena on the way to a 73-53 win.
