Virginia moves up one spot to No. 5 in the AP Poll

The Hoos didn’t play this week thanks to the exam break, but that didn’t keep the Virginia Cavaliers from moving up a spot to No. 5 in the latest AP Poll. The top three didn’t change as Kansas retained their hold on the No. 1 spot, followed by Duke and Tennessee. Michigan and Virginia bumped up thanks to then-No. 4 Gonzaga’s loss to North Carolina, allowing the Hoos to reclaim one of the spots they lost last week.

Nevada, Auburn, Gonzaga, North Carolina, and Michigan State round out the top ten, in that order.

Villanova lost back-to-back games (to Penn and Kansas), dropping them out of the rankings.
