The Virginia men’s lacrosse team finished the regular season 12-5 and are well set to make the NCAA tournament for the first time in several seasons. Today, the Hoos learned that outstanding first year midfielder Matt Moore was named the ACC Freshman of the Year.
This is the second straight season that Virginia has had the top rookie on their team as attackman Michael Kraus earned the award last season. Virginia has had back-to-back ACC Freshman of the Year winners twice before as Tim Whiteley and Michael Watson earned the title in 1993 and 1994, while Tillman Johnson and Joe Yevoli did it in 2001 and 2002.
