Virginia hires Sara O’Leary as new head coach of women’s tennis

Virginia Athletic Director Craig Littlepage announced this morning that the University has hired Sara O’Leary to head up the Virginia women’s tennis program.

O’Leary will replace Mark Guilbeau, who resigned May 5th after 12 years at the helm of the Cavalier women’s program. The new hire is the first big move by new Virginia director of tennis (and head coach of the men’s tennis team) Andres Pedroso, who came on board to replace the legendary Brian Boland following Boland’s fourth NCAA tennis title (in five years).

An alum of North Carolina (where she herself was a two-time All-American), O’Leary coached at her alma mater as an assistant for six years (2008-2014) before becoming the head coach at Davidson University.
