Virginia football puts three on All-ACC first team

Three Virginia Cavaliers football players earned first-team All-ACC honors for 2016: safety Quin Blanding, linebacker Micah Kiser, and punter Nick Conte.

Running back Taquan Mizzell was named to the honorable mention list.

The 2016 honors are the second straight year that Blanding and Kiser have been on the first team. They are the first pair of Cavaliers to earn back-to-back first-team accolades since Thomas Jones and Noel Lamontagne in the late 1990s.

Conte made the first team thanks to a punting average of 44.3 yards per punt this season—first in the ACC and 17th nationally. Thirty-four of Conte’s punts were downed inside the 20-yard line, which leads all FBS players.
