Virginia football falls at Oregon, 44-26

It was an encouraging first fifteen minutes for the Virginia Cavaliers. After a quarter of play, the Hoos had doubled their rushing output from week one. Their defense had forced the vaunted Ducks offense to punt on its first drive. It was only a seven point game.

But then, well...

The Ducks went over, around, and through the Cavaliers defense for the next fifteen minutes. A 13-6 Oregon lead after one quarter became 30-6 after two. Oregon converted a third-and-36, turning what looked like a Cavalier stop into 7 points. The momentum swing seemed to take life out of the Hoos for the rest of the half.
