In a season that has been defined by Virginia's lack of depth on the mound, Hoos just don't have enough magic to hold on and beat W&M.
With an uphill climb ahead of them to win the Charlottesville Regional and with a lack of depth on the mound, Coach O'Connor chose to start Daniel Lynch against the Tribe and save Adam Haseley for a possible match up with ECU. Unfortunately Lynch didn't make it out of the second inning giving up three earned runs on four hits in the frame. The runs allowed the Tribe to jump out to an early 3-0 lead.
