Virginia Baseball: Hoos win opener 10-2 over Liberty

Coming into the year, the talk surrounding the 2017 UVA baseball team was the potent lineup. Well, the offense didn’t disappoint jumping on Liberty early and often to the tune of ten runs. But how about the effort by Daniel Lynch on the mound. The sophomore righthander was fantastic pitching 6.1 innings of one run, four hit baseball. After giving up a run in the top of the second, Lynch was virtually un-hittable facing the minimum 12 batters over the next four innings.

At the plate, Jake McCarthy was the big bat for the Cavaliers going 3-4 with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored, and a hit by pitch.
