On Monday afternoon, the NCAA Baseball Tournament Selection Committee announced Virginia will be the #3 seed in the Columbia regional of the 2021 NCAA Baseball Tournament. It will be Virginia’s first appearance in the NCAA Regionals since 2017.
Joining Virginia in Columbia will be the Old Dominion Monarchs, South Carolina Gamecocks, and Jacksonville Dolphins. Despite hosting, the Gamecocks are actually the #2 seed. With the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee pre-selecting host sites three weeks ago, the Monarchs were not considered as a host at that time, but have played their way to being one of the top 16 teams in the country.
