Statistically UVA played a great game, but still came away with a loss.
Despite the close loss to the Pittsburgh Panthers, the Virginia Cavaliers had some positive statistics coming out of the game.
- It was the first time all year the defense forced a turnover - two of them actually. The first takeaway was returned for a touchdown, and the second was on the goal line preventing a touchdown. Those turnovers were huge point swings that kept UVA in the game.
- The 363 yards allowed to Pitt were the lowest of the season and lowest since the defense held Miami to only 327 last season, the last time the Cavaliers beat a FBS team.
