Reports: Virginia to announce Carla Williams as next athletic director

According to David Teel of the Daily Press, the Virginia Cavaliers will name current University of Georgia deputy athletic director Carla Williams as the next athletic director of the University of Virginia.

Williams played basketball for Georgia and graduated in 1989 as the 10th all-time leading scorer. After six years as an assistant coach of the women’s basketball team in Athens, Williams moved into athletics administration as a compliance director for UGA, followed by stops at Florida State and Vanderbilt.
