Former Virginia Baseball star Phil Gosselin is off to a hot start in the coronavirus-shortened 2020 MLB season. Gosselin, now with the Philadelphia Phillies, is in his seventh season of pro ball action after making his debut in 2013 with the Braves. His contract was selected by the Phillies for the 40-man roster on July 24th, and he got the starting nod on July 25th for Philadelphia’s second game against the Florida Marlins.
Gosselin batted in the eight spot for the Phillies, and had himself a day. He started with a walk in the bottom of the second inning and got his first hit in the fourth.
