Last month, Virginia Cavaliers’ Athletic Director, Carla Williams, announced the department will pay the 2025-26 maximum $20.5 million to their student athletes under the recent House vs. NCAA settlement that permits universities to directly pay their athletes.
Together with name, image, and likeness (NIL) partnerships, revenue sharing (or “rev-sharing”) with student-athletes fundamentally changes the nature of collegiate sports – which comes with questions and uncertainty.
