After a season that’s seen plenty of scoring, the Hoos shined in their first pitchers duel of the year. Adam Haseley was terrific going eight strong, giving up only a single earned run on six hits, three walks, and four strike outs and leading the Hoos to a 2-1 win. He even helped out his own cause coming up with a solo home run in the top of the first.
Just like on Friday, Virginia struck first thanks to Haseley’s solo home run to the opposite field. It was the junior’s sixth home run of the year, all to the opposite field.
