When Aaron Murray left the Georgia Bulldogs for the 2014 NFL Draft, Georgia Head Coach Mark Richt found himself handing the reigns over to an eager Hutson Mason. Murray had broken numerous Southeastern Conference records, and it would be nearly impossible for Mason to duplicate Murray’s statistics.
Mason did okay, though, throwing 21 touchdowns and only four interceptions last year.
But now the Bulldogs will have to find a new leader under center with Mason having graduated. The likely candidate would be junior Faton Bauta, but he’s only thrown five passes as a Bulldog.
That could be why Richt is hot and heavy on the recruiting trail for a veteran quarterback.
