CHARLOTTESVILLE — T.J. Thorpe tried to avoid talking with his new teammates about Virginia’s game against North Carolina last season, but it was just too good of a comeback for whenever he got grief. The first time the UNC transfer wide receiver stepped onto the field at Scott Stadium as a Virginia player this spring, he walked over to the spot where he caught his game-winning touchdown for the Tar Heels in October.
Seeing Thorpe in orange Saturday afternoon was a more pleasant sight for Virginia fans. After joining the team in January, he concluded spring practices with four catches for 58 yards and one touchdown at the Cavaliers’ spring game.
