It has been a painful couple of weeks for Virginia Cavaliers baseball fans. Just days after the ‘Hoos were not selected into the NCAA Tournament field, capping off an immensely disappointing season, Brian O’Connor decided he had enough of Charlottesville and departed to Mississippi State. On his way out, Oak took almost the entire coaching staff and presumably much of the lineup with him to Starkville. Perhaps, worst of all, all signs point to this breakup being attributed to the administration and their lack of commitment to improving the program’s resources.
While all of this may be hard to fathom, it is ultimately time to turn the page and look forward.
