After leading 10-0 in the second quarter it looked like the Hoos might finally give UVa their first win of 2016, first road win since 2012, and first win of the Bronco Mendenhall era.
Then the UVa defense started giving UConn extra life via penalties and the UVa offense stalled for just about the rest of the game.
The Hoos would outgain the Huskies in all facets of the game throwing for 241 yards compared to UConn’s 154, and rushing for 140 to UConn’s 123. Unfortunately, the aspect of the game that UVa further outgained UConn was penalty yards.
