Cavalier Comeback Falls Just Short. Hoos Drop Game 2 to Clemson, 7-6

The amazing pitching of Tommy Doyle and Co. unfortunately did not carry over to Evan Sperling.

The redshirt freshman found himself in serious trouble early and quite often, which lead him to receiving his 2nd loss on the season. Sperling was only able to retire two batters while giving up 4 hits and 3 bases on balls leading to 6 earned run in just a short period.

Even though Sperling did not have an impressive showing on the day, and most will look at that in the loss, the bullpen came on in relief and shut down the Tigers over the next 8 innings allowing only 1 run.
