Currently the Virginia Cavaliers (23-14) are unranked, but any time a team that travels up to Charlottesville will have a tough series on their hands. For the Miami Hurricanes, winners of nine straight, they felt that first-hand on Friday night.
Despite a solid outing from Miami starter Thomas Woodrey and an early exit for Virginia starter Nathan Kirby, the Cavaliers won 5-4 in a tight ACC matchup.
Kirby is considered one of the highest-rated college prospects and showed it early as he allowed just two hits and no runs in the first three innings.
