Bryce Perkins named starting quarterback for Virginia football

The Virginia Cavaliers have a new QB1—and it’s a player in year one with the program.

In his annual press conference at the beginning of spring practice, head coach Bronco Mendenhall announced that Arizona State transfer Bryce Perkins would take the reins of the Hoos’ new offense.

Few quick notes from Bronco:

- Bryce Perkins will start spring as No. 1 QB
- Malcolm Cook could slide to ILB, depending on development of Charles Snowden at OLB
- Thornhill back at safety with Tim Harris healthy CB— Damon Dillman (@DamonDillman) March 23, 2018

Perkins played last year at junior college Arizona Western, leading the Matadors to the NJCAA national championship game.
