The Virginia Football team is scheduled to kick off the 2020 season in 23 days when the Hoos travel to Blacksburg on September 19. Now, it all feels a little more tangible as head coach Bronco Mendenhall named redshirt sophomore Brennan Armstrong the starting quarterback.
Armstrong, who is listed at 6-2, 215 pounds, will be wearing No. 5 for the Cavaliers this season.
When Mendenhall spoke with the media on Friday, August 21, he said Armstrong held a slight lead over Mississippi State transfer Keytaon Thompson in the positional battle. This decision was expected, and coaches are high on his abilities.
