Less than a week after now former Virginia Cavaliers head coach Brian O’Connor was introduced in Starkville as Mississippi State’s new leader, the ‘Hoos have found their coach of the future. After a heartbreaking loss to Murray State in the decisive third game of the super regionals, Duke’s Chris Pollard is set to take the reigns in Charlottesville according to a release from the UVA Athletic Department.
Pollard’s road to Charlottesville includes stints at four different schools. He began his coaching career at his alma mater, Davidson College, as an assistant in 1996, before landing his first head coaching position at Division II Pfeiffer University, where he led the Falcons for five seasons, improving the program’s record each of his five years.
