Clemson was picked to win both the Atlantic Division and the ACC Championship, while Georgia Tech was selected to win the Coastal Division, the ACC released Tuesday morning. Virginia was tabbed to finish last in the Coastal Division, and decisively so.
Clemson's predicted finish comes in despite Florida State's status as the three-time defending ACC Champion and inaugural participant in the College Football Playoff last year. This is largely due to now sophomore quarterback standout Deshaun Watson, who was selected by the media as the Preseason Player of the Year ahead of Pitt RB and last season's ACC Player of the Year James Conner.
