The first in-conference game usually comes very close to the beginning of the year and gives teams a taste of what is mostly an uphill climb until March. Some teams have an easy entrance into ACC play and others have a much more frontloaded schedule. The following is an evaluation of how the ACC elite will be introduced to conference play:
The Cavaliers first face Notre Dame at home in early January. Virginia’s out-of-conference schedule is fairly strenuous, with notable opponents including Ohio State and especially Villanova.
