Just under a week ago, Virginia Cavaliers senior guard Malcolm Brogdon was named a Sporting News first-team All-American. Today, Brogdon snagged another honor, being named to the USBWA All-America first team as well.
Sporting News and USBWA are two of the four All-America teams used by the NCAA to tabulate consensus All-American honors. The other two organizations are the Associated Press and the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
As with his Sporting News award, Brogdon becomes the first UVa player to be named a first-team USBWA All-American since Ralph Sampson in 1983.
