For the first time in over 13 years, the Villanova Women’s Basketball team has broken the top 25. The poll released today has the undefeated Wildcats ranked at #25, joining Marquette (#23) as the only other Big East team represented in the rankings.
The victory over #11 Duke last Sunday brought Villanova into the conversation, and winning the Vermont Thanksgiving Tournament added two key wins to their resume. They defeated James Madison University 60-57 on Friday and beat American University 65-60 to win the Vermont Thanksgiving Tournament.
With the Men’s team coming in at #4 this week, it marks the first time in 25 years that both teams were ranked in the AP Poll at the same time.
