Villanova Women’s Basketball Ranked for the First Time Since 2004

For the first time in over 13 years, the Villanova Women’s Basketball team has broken the top 25. The poll released today has the undefeated Wildcats ranked at #25, joining Marquette (#23) as the only other Big East team represented in the rankings.

The victory over #11 Duke last Sunday brought Villanova into the conversation, and winning the Vermont Thanksgiving Tournament added two key wins to their resume. They defeated James Madison University 60-57 on Friday and beat American University 65-60 to win the Vermont Thanksgiving Tournament.

With the Men’s team coming in at #4 this week, it marks the first time in 25 years that both teams were ranked in the AP Poll at the same time.
