Villanova survives La Salle scare 77-68

It wasn’t pretty, but the Villanova Wildcats were able to survive a scare from the La Salle Explorers and escape the Wells Fargo Center with a 77-68 win on Sunday afternoon. Phil Booth and Donte DiVincenzo led the way with 18 points apiece for the ‘Cats, with Jalen Brunson (17 points, 7 assists), not far behind.

About a year removed from one of last season’s toughest games, the Explorers came ready to play while the ‘Cats may have read a few too many press clippings this week after their big win over Gonzaga.
