Villanova football at Maine: Wildcats shut down Bears in 26-7 road win.

The defense needed to hold for the Villanova Wildcats to take the victory in Maine, and hold it did. The Maine Black Bears scored just seven points -- on a special teams play -- against the 'Cats defense and went 0-for-5 in the red zone, getting picked off three times in or near the endzone.

The 26-7 victory for Villanova snapped a 5-game winning streak for Maine. Villanova improved to 7-2 overall and 5-1 in the CAA.

While the defense did its part, the Villanova offense also had a pretty special day as well. Zach Bednarczyk passed for a career high 326 yards and 3 touchdowns, with no interceptions.
