Villanova opened Big 5 play for the first time ever in Jake Nevin Fieldhouse and defeated the University of Pennsylvania 90-62. This was Villanova’s 19th straight Big 5 victory, and also the first regular season game played at Jake Nevin since Nova defeated Marist on January 4, 1986.

“We knew we were in for a battle,” Coach Wright said after the game. “It’s beneficial to play these games early - the Big 5 has some of the best coaches in the country and we know we have to bring it every game.
